THE CHRISTIAN CHURCH AND SOCIETY NEW LONDON AND EAST NOTIINGHAM TOWNSHIPS, CHESTER COUNTY (CONTINUED FROM44:227) T he earlier meetings at Mount Olivet focused on receiving new members and on organizational matters as members defined the nature of the church. With the first meeting transcribed below, things changed. They began with a decision on what to name the church cemetery, but it was followed by drama-a letter of resignation from one of the organizing members and his wife, followed a few months later by another member resignation, and then by the resignation of the pastor. As the minutes continue, there are clear indications that even more members are no longer attending church meetings.
