Presented by Mrs. Charles P. Tovery. F Y3.5 CORRECTIONS AND ADDITIONS Mr. Lewis D. Cook calls attention to several errors in his article "Farmar of Ardevalaine, County Tipperary, Ireland ..." which appeared in Volume XXI of this Magazine, as follows: p. 89: First line under the title, the arms of the Femur family should read Ar. (Argent), not Or. The seal is from the will of Mary Farm., not Major Jasper Farmar, as noted in line 1 of Note 1. In the 2nd paragraph of the text, line 4, change Jaspar Farmar, Jr., to Jasper. Corrections and Additions 13$ p. 99: Note 12, line 5, following Burke, Landed Gentry (1845) and, insert Burke's, and in line 6, after (London, 1958), delete "by the same author." In the last line, correct the title to read The Journal of the Cork Historical and Archeological Society. p. 103: To follow the administration citation of Jaspar Farmer, Jr., Mr. Cook adds: The inventory of the personal and real estate in the Province of Pennsylvania, made and appraised by Thomas Hooton, Thomas Fitzwater, Humphrey Morrey and Benjamin Chambers "at the desire of Katherine Farmar, relict and administratrix of Jasper Farmar of the town and Countie of Philadelphia in the Province of Pennsylvania, deceased," dated 21 8m (Oct.) 1687, amounted to a little over £698, the last items being silver tankard, jug, cann, sugar box, 4 salts and 12 spoons, each marked I F K; a negro boy, 1250 acres of land and improvements; house and lot in Second Street of Philadelphia; and a debt from James Claypoole, deceased, bemg a cargo of goods of which Jasper Farmer was consigned a half part. Marked on the outside of this document by the probate clerk is "Inventory of Jasper Farmer's Jr. Estate / 25 8ber 1687," and also, in error. "Will 20 / 1685." Filed with that will, which is that of the decedent's father, Major Jasper Farmar, it escaped the attention of the compiler of this article. p. 107: Under children of 1. Jasper Farmar, change ii. Elizabeth Farrnar, d. unmarried by 1703, to "d. unmarried by 1700, as recited in Deed Book F-4, 225, cited above." p. 108: Under iii. Robert Farmar, change date of administration on his estate to 29 Mar. 1758, not 1768. p. 118: Note 45 to begin: One Richard Farmar and Mary Birde obtained marriage license in 1733, as listed in Index to the Marriage License Bonds of the Diocese of Cork and Ross, Ireland, 1623-1750 (Cork, 1896). p. 121: Under children of 5. Richard Farmer and his first wife Mary, change date of baptism of Anna Margerita to read: 25 June 1745. p. 122: Add to Note $5: Cf. typescript of 1858 manuscript by S. D. S. Bower, Family of Samuel Bower of Philadelphia, Shipwright, HSP. Dr. Karl Friedrich von Frank, one of our Corresponding Members, points out that in Volume XXII, p. 190, 2nd paragraph, 2nd line, Kirchavn, birthplace of John Adam Coos, should read ICirchhain, and that Dr. von Frank's publication is properly Senilenegger Monatsblatt für Genealogic, sand Heraldik, correcting the typographical error on p. 277. Dr. Krebs, another of our Corresponding Members, is Archiv-assessor of the Pfilzisches Landeskirchenarchiv at Speyer, rather than director, as incorrectly noted on p. 276. Mr. Milton Rubincam, Fellow of this Society, points out that he had been editor of the National Genealogical Society Quarterly since 1957, not 1956, and that he had been president of that Society from 1945 to 1948, and from 1953 to 1954.
