Private Farm Cemetery of Jacob Horst

Private Farm Cemetery of Jacob Horst Information obtained on a field visit 17 November 1977 by Dr. William R. Houston, of Mansfield, Ohio and Dr. John A. Fritchey, II, of Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, including and supplementing a 20 April 1975 visit of Clarke Horst Hess, of Landisville, Pennsylvania. The cemetery is located aout 500 feet southeast from the intersection of Bainbridge (Route 241) and Bossier Roads in West Donegal Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, near the Conoy Township line, on a farm presently owned by the Hawthorne family. The plot, about 20 feet square is located on the lower part of a small knoll surrounded by an iron fence which is now lying on the ground. Most stones have been knocked from their bases and scattered, others partially or totally covered by soil, making a reconstruction of the position of the graves difficult. There appear to have been four rows of graves, with headstones toward the south and footstones toward the north. Elizabeth Camp, wife of Stephen P. Camp, died 3 May 1835, aged 33 years, 11 months, 3 days. Henry H. Camp, son of Stephen P. Camp, (born 19 February 1831, died 12 December 1852). Stephen P. Camp, died 25 March 1844, aged 44 years, 11 months, 23 days. Abraham Horst, died 10 March 1835, aged 15 years. Amanda Horst, daughter of Joseph & Ann Horst, died 15 May 1849, aged 1 year, 8 months. Christian Horst, (born 5 March 1808, died 2 February 1861), aged 52 years 10 months, 27 days. Cyrus Horst, son of Henry & Leah Horst, died 4 December 1846, aged 2 years, 4 months, 15 days. Cyrus E. Horst, son of Joseph & Ann Maria Horst, (born 14 April 1851, died 28 May 1863). Elisabeth Horst, wife of Jacob Horst, died 13 October 1842, aged 61 years, 6 months, 13 days. Eliza Horst, wife of Christian Horst, (born 17 August 1813, died 3 December 1891), aged 78 years, 3 months, 16 days. Jacob Horst, (born 30 March 1773, died 28 March 1856), aged 82 years, 11 months, 29 days. Leah Horst, wife of Henry Horst, and daughter of John & Barbara Kuntz, (born 17 January 1814, died 19 September 1848), aged 34 years, 8 months, 2 days. Maria Ann Horst, daughter of Joseph & Ann Maria Horst, (born 26 April 1844, died 18 November 1846). Nancy Horst, daughter of Christian & Elizabeth Horst, (born 1 April 1835, died 28 June 1842).
