THIRTY-FOURTH ANNUAL REPORT OF THE GENEALOGICAL SOCIETY OF PENNSYLVANIA, BEAD AT THE ANNUAL MEETING, MARCH 1, 1926. P To the Members of The Genealogical Society of Pennsylvania : The Board of Directore begs to submit the following report for the calendar year ending December 31, 1925. At the thirty-third Annual Meeting of the Society held March 2, 1925, the following named Officers and Directors were elected: President ) Charles P. Keith. Vice- Presidents, John F. Lewis, Edward Robins, Miss Anne Hollingsworth Wharton. Recording Secretary, Ernest Spofford. Corresponding Secretary, Miss M. Atherton Leach. Historian, Frank Worthington Melvin. Treasurer , Ogden Dungan Wilkinson. Directors, to serve three years , Miss Nina Lea, Charles F. Jenkins, Edwin Jaquett Sellers. to serve two years , Hon. George Henderson. Following the election, Edwin Jaquette Sellers, Esq., delivered am exceedingly scholarly and instructive address on i i Genealogical Investi gation. ’’ The usual supper was then served. At a regular monthly meeting of the Board of Directors held April 21, 1925, it was unanimously 11 Resolved, That the twenty -five years useful association of Mr. George H. Fairchild with the Historical and Genealogi cal Societies of Pennsylvania be and hereby is greatly appreciated by this board." A copy of this resolution was ordered engrossed and presented to Mr. Fairchild as a small memento of his valuable service. At the same meeting the completion of the work of transcribing Friends ' records at Devonshire House, London, England, was authorized. Through the good offices of Mr. Alfred Rudulph Justice, a member of the Society, most of the work has been accomplished. At this meeting, also, the preparation and publication of a complete catalogue of the Society 's collections was discussed and approved. At the December meeting, the indexing of marriage and death notices appearing in Pontoon 's American Daily Advertiser , to the extent of a single volume supplementary to the books now on the Society 's shelves, was authorized. During the year the work of photostating the original wiUs, inventories and accounts from the Philadelphia Registry of Wills has steadily proceeded. The photostat , now well beyond the experimental state, is acclaimed a great success. AH of the Society 's work of copying wills, church and other records by this method has been accomplished without cost to the institution. Indeed, a profit for the year of $293.17, made possible by work done to accommodate members and others, is shown by the books. In this connection, acknowledgment is due Mr. Henry W. Scarborough and George W. Boyer, Esq., both members of the Society, for their zeal in securing suitable material for the photostat.
