[ These inscriptions are taken from the first fifteen rows of the old, or original, cemetery. The section covered comprises the northeastern quarter of the present cemetery. After more than a half -century of neglect, it was recently restored, but more than seventy five per cent of the tombstones had disappeared or so worn as to be indecipherable. An example of the irreparable damage may be found in the first row where but five of the original headstones remain.
