[On fly leaf] Abraham Bond his book Bought in the year of Lord 1765 [On inside of front cover] LEVI M BOND Abraham Bond, the first owner of the Bible, was born July 21, 1731, being one of nine children of John and Sarah (Cadwalader) Bond. who were married in March, 1724/5, and thereafter lived sometime within the compass of Abington Monthly Meeting of Friends, and sometime within that of Gwynedd Monthly Meeting, but after the death of John Bond, about 1748, the family removed to within the compass of Richland Monthly Meeting, in Bucks County, on which register the births of the children of John and Sarah are entered. Abraham Bond married a cousin, Elizabeth Cadwalader, and lived probably in Horsham Township, Philadelphia (now Montgomery) County, or in that vicinity. The Bible descended to his son Levi Bond who married Hannah Merrick (a descendant of Phineas Pemberton); then to Levi's son Abraham who married Lucilla Hough and lived in Newtown, Bucks County; then to this last Abraham's daughter, Jane Bond, wife of Kinsey B. Tomlinson, also of Newtown ; then to Mrs. Tomlinson's niece, Mary Emma Tucker Ancona, of Reading, Pennsylvania, (daughter of the second Abraham Bond's daughter Beulah, wife of John Tucker); in 1902 it was, (and is no doubt at present,) in possession of Mrs. Ancona's son Frederick W. Ancona, formerly of Reading, now of Philadelphia. 0. H. Margerette Bond was born the 4°' of July 1821. Frederick P Bond was born the 15°' of June 1823. George M. Bond was born the 23" of December 1825. Henry Bond was born the 21 day of December 1827. Maria Louisa Bond was born the 30°' of March in the year of our Lord 1834. Frederick P Bond died the 18°' of December 1825. Margerette Bond died the 24°' day of December 1825. Bond was born the 13th day of August in the year of our lord 1812. Jane Bond was born the 22d day of February in the year of our Lord 1815. Beulah Bond was born the 4 day of February in the year of our Lord 1818. Silas C Bond was born the 2d day of October in the year of our Lord 1820. Closely connected with the above are the following family records copied for Mr. Ancona about 1901, by Mr. William V. Bond, a great-great-grandson of Abraham & Elizabeth (Cadwalader) Bond, partly from an old Bible in the latter's possession, presumably that of his grandfather, Thomas Bond, but some, evidently, from another source.
